Hotel description
Cliveden House is a privately owned 5 Red Star award-winning hotel, and sister to the world-renowned Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa in Hampshire. Our story is one of over 350 years of powerful personalities, debaucherous parties and scandalous affairs. Built in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham, as a gift to his mistress, Cliveden House has remained a pinnacle of intrigue and glamour for the elite.
Enriched with antique furniture and period features, it has stayed true to its roots whilst also providing a luxurious setting to rest, meet and play. Now, our Grade I stately home set upon 376 acres of National Trust grounds is a luxurious five-star hotel, ready and waiting to welcome you in.
Sprawling out beyond our five-star country estate lies 376 acres of magnificent Grade I listed formal gardens and woodlands. Standing majestically upon the chalk cliffs which lend the house its name, the house commands panoramic views over the Berkshire countryside. Owned, managed and lovingly cared for by the National Trust, the gardens feature the celebrated Parterre, season-long floral displays, distinctive topiary and a collection of exceptional sculptures.
At Cliveden House, we treat all our guests as individuals and therefore we have a range of facilities catering for people of all abilities. We have done everything possible to make sure that the facilities at our luxury hotel are designed to be disabled friendly, providing full access for our guests, however as a Grade-I listed property we have some areas that are not completely accessible.
