Hotel description
The story of Kendov Dvorec goes back to 1377, when the first landowners managed a farm above the Idrijca river valley. In the centuries-old village of Spodnja Idrija, which has developed quietly since 1156, sheltered by the pilgrimage Church of Mary on the Rock, the strong and renowned Kenda family successfully promoted the economic and cultural progress of the region.
The magnificent building of the former Kenda homestead has been renovated and revived in the spirit of times past. Although Kendov Dvorec dates back to the 14th century, its present-day beauty is not only a remnant of the old times of the wealthy Kenda family, but also from the modern times of the successful Svetlik family. With pride and respect, we are committed to preserving the rich tradition of our local environment.
The Kenda Manor restaurant offers exclusive cuisine prepared using carefully selected natural ingredients found in the surrounding nature, as well as an exquisite selection of wines. The property also organizes events such as wine tastings, celebrations and business meetings.
The peaceful secluded location of the hotel, amid 100-year-old apple trees and kept gardens, offers a unique view on the historical city center and surrounding hills. Guests can enjoy hikes in nature and take part in various folk traditions and festivities that take place nearby.
