Tour "Bicycle tour Oshten-Guzeripl-Mezmay". We invite you to join our unforgettable two-day bike tour! This is a technical, exciting, and beautiful cycling route: the path along Lago-Naki, through Oshten to Guzeripl. We have already tried out this cycle route. The idea to combine two routes in one exit arose long ago. Conquer Mount Oshten on bicycles and go down the old Mezmay road to the village of Mezmay, and then to Nizhny Novgorod. During our tour you will find:
A lot of positive emotions, breathtaking impressions, dizzying views, and just the happiness in the wild, - we promise everyone as a gift in unlimited quantities!
The program can be changed according to the individual request of the group.
Arrival at the Lago-Naki plateau. Preparing to start the trip. Unloading bicycles at the very top of the road on the Lago-Naki plateau.
Travel along the Logo-Naki plateau to Mount Oshten. We start from the Lago-Naki plateau. We enter the Caucasian reserve. Upon entry, you need to pay for the stay in the reserve. We make our way along the Lago-Naki plateau to Mount Oshten. Climb 300 meters for 8 km. On a dirt road, we leave towards the Tsitsa river.
Mount Oshten. We rise to Oshten along a dirt road. There, along the ridge, we get to a small lake at the top. And then we slide down a steep alpine path to the other side of the mountain (to the instructor's path from the northern side of Oshten). A helmet must be worn, as well as elbow and knee protection (if any). From the northern side, the mountain breaks off with harsh reddish-gray sheer walls. Rocky spurs of the mountains divide it into several circuses. In circuses, like in giant bowls, there are centuries-old glaciers with deep cracks.
Heading through the forest and lake to the village of Guzeripl. Further from the large stone, we roll along the footpath (or walk by foot) into the forest and onto the asphalt to the lake at Partizanskaya Polyana. Well, there is already 13 km of fast serpentine to the village of Guzeripl.
Arrival in the Guzeripl village.
We set up a camp near the Belaya River. Supper. Overnight in a tent under the deep sky with plenty of stars.
Rise. Breakfast. Picking up tents and things.
Our bus takes us to the turn to Mezmay.
We are unloading, collect bicycles, check everything, especially the tightening of the handlebars and brakes.
Traveling in the mountains. We start down the loose old road with the remains of asphalt. The helmet must be put on immediately. We recommend wearing at least minimal elbow and knee protection. We go down 7 km to the turn to Mezmay. It is important to listen to the instructor's recommendations! Do not miss the turn. Then it's very long and hard to come back uphill. At the turn to the old Mezmay road, instructions are given on the rules of behavior on the mountain road. Riding in mountainous areas is very different from urban. Even strongly confident cyclists usually fall. Most sections of the Mezmay road can be passed by all normally riding cyclists. But novice bikers will walk most of the descent. A 12 km descent will go down along an uneven road, in places along rocky ledges. Bald or city tires won't help you, especially if the stones are slippery. Use a spiked one. And if you have a "full-suspension bike" - this is the perfect track for you! But there are also many asphalt slopes!
Mezmay. Well, we went down to Mezmay, where we buy snacks in local stores and leave through the pass to Nizhegorodskaya. It is difficult to get to Mezmay and get out... So sometimes the village Mezmay, located in a wooded lowland between three mountain ranges, is called Mezmay pit for inaccessibility. But those who do get here are rewarded with all the blessings of nature - the beauty of the mountain landscape, the purest healing air, crystal streams of rivers and waterfalls, caves, forest thickets... All this is at our complete disposal during the trip. We ride light-handed on bicycles (the car carries our things), improve the technique of using the “iron horse”. A lot of positive emotions, breathtaking impressions, dizzying views, and just the happiness of being introduced to the wild, - we promise everyone as a gift in unlimited quantities!
Take a bike helmet with you and preferably at least knee protection. Some of the helmets can be borrowed from the organizers. Starting on a bike in Mezmay, you have to take what you need: money for food and warm clothes for the evening, a windbreaker from the rain. Put all this in a backpack and take it with you. There are shops in Mezmay. For riding in Mezmay, you need comfortable sturdy shoes.
The second day is not so extreme, but intense. In the beginning, we will have a descent near a stone plate and beautiful mountain valleys. But there will also be an ascent of 4 km with different inclines and a 15 km descent along a new serpentine road.
Packing the stuff. Departure by bus to Rostov.
