Business Information

Hungary promises enormous benefits to those who come here for a shorter or longer period, as well as those who stay here for permanent residence. Probably the biggest advantage of Hungary is the location in the heart of the continent, both geographically and historically, culturally and economically. It is easy to get to any region of Europe from here, whether it is north, south, east or west. Hungary can be the starting point for investors planning the large-scale development of their business and the conquest of the European market. After the country's accession to the European Union, the starting of business activity in Hungary means entering the markets of the EU countries with a population of 500 million people. Small and medium businesses are supported at the state and legislative levels in Hungary. In particular, the system of financial and tax statements has been simplified, and the tax burden is quite acceptable (Hungary has the lowest income tax among all EU countries). Small and medium enterprises employ about 60% of the able-bodied population of Hungary; in general, they account for about 25% of the country's gross domestic product and almost 97% of the total number of registered firms.

Foreigners receive preferential conditions for running their own business: administrative authorities actively participate in the development of small and medium businesses; the number of bureaucratic procedures is significantly reduced every year due to the support of the European Union; having your own company in Hungary becomes profitable and prestigious due to low rents and favorable prices for real estate. Indirect economic incentives include the systematic reduction of the tax burden, simplification of financial statements, soft loans, subsidized interest rates on commercial loans and the provision of bank guarantees. There is a simplified system of registration of small enterprises on the principle of "one window" in Hungary. This system provides both for Hungarian citizens and for foreign citizens (extended questionnaires are provided for them) to register small enterprises in a “single window” and with one package of necessary documents.

The Hungarian language is considered one of the most difficult, however it is indispensable for permanent work in the country. 84% of the adult population have higher education, and diplomas of Hungarian universities are recognized worldwide. Hungarians are polite, friendly and talkative, but melancholy and completely not pedantic.
The most developed business areas in Hungary are: finance, energy, transport, agriculture, automotive, electronics, real estate. There are many options for activities in these sectors. And the percentage of foreigners owning a business in these areas is extremely high.
