Business Information

The geographical location of Bulgaria is very profitable. It lies at the intersection of the most important sea transport routes from the Black and Mediterranean Seas to the Atlantic Ocean. It allows Bulgaria to develop close trade relations both with European countries and Asian and African states. Bulgaria is a member of the EU. We are talking not only about the billions of dollars of financial injections of the European Union aimed at modernizing the Bulgarian infrastructure and improving the standard of living of people, but also about the free access to the European market that has discovered more than 500 million consumers for local products. Economic indicators confidently show the financial stability of Bulgaria and the banking system is also well developed.

Bulgaria has created favorable conditions for foreign investment. The taxation will surprise many investors in the world with its mild regime: the country has the lowest organization tax in the EU (10%); in regions with high unemployment - zero investment tax rate; 5% tax on dividends, 10% income tax, VAT rate - 20%, social insurance burden is reduced, etc. It  is not difficult to start a business in Bulgaria. Moreover, now the size of the authorized capital was reduced from € 2,500 to € 1. The company is entered into the electronic register within two business days. There are the lowest operating costs in the EU, the simplicity of registration and reporting for the company and the lack of pressure from regulatory authorities. Of course, all investments are guaranteed and protected by European law. That is why Bulgaria occupies a very decent 44th place due to the conduciveness of Doing Business.

The country is notable for rather cheap labor. Bulgarians are hardworking and zealous, although they have their own national characteristics: they are often quick-tempered, envious, touchy and vindictive, superstitious and dependent on other people's opinions. At the same time, the Bulgarians are open and guileless, friendly, balanced and courteous. Nobody will push you here or try to skip the line.
The most promising sectors for investment include: the hotel business, catering, services, manufacturing. A diverse landscape, vast territories, stable economy, labor reserves and  favorable geographical position make Bulgaria very profitable for investment and doing business.
